I've been attending this school for my whole high school career, and i must say, the teachers that teach the upper level students are wonderful for the most part. They know what they're doing and preparing us all for the future as we enter the next major part of our lives. However, the "average" or "lower" classes (as if there is much of a difference) are absolutely terrible on both ends. The students are disrespectful towards the teacher and the teachers show little or no respect towards the students. Not to mention the "Campus Monitors" have literally no control over the "mall" and they don't care to either.

I love that my daughter attends this school for the CJA program!! She loves her teachers and they challenge her very well! Most of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Mrs. Freed is top notch!! She has the best communications for her classes on a regular basis!! The only thing I would love to see changed is the CJA secretary. She needs a class in friendliness when you visit!!

Not a very good school. Some teachers give you no homework, some give you too much, and some just tell you to drop out! (Seriously, the whole class was told this on more than one occasion.) There are a select few really great teachers in CJA, but there are equally as bad who do not help students at all. The "mall" like design of the school makes changing classes extremely crowded, unpleasant, and leaves no time to visit your locker. Troublemakers also run rampant in the halls.

I have been attending PPHS for going on 3 years now and I find it is a more or less decent school. However I am in the Criminal Justice Academy, much like many of the students whom have reviewed this school. You may want to note that students in the CJA program have a very different experience than mainstream PPHS students. We have our own teachers and staff. So if you are reading this review because you either want to attend or send your child to this school, you may want to keep that in mind. I would rate the CJA program a 4 out of 5. There are some great, passionate teathers in the program that go out of there way to make sure each student gets the education they need. While the program and school has its strong suits, there are also some departments that are very lacking, the science department inparticular. Some of the teachers have their heart in the right place, but simply don't have the knowledge necessary to give the students what they need to truly understand the topic. Others understand the topic, but refuse to teach their students. But other than this it is a good program. I couldn't give a well developed review on the mainstream portion for I am not a part of it.

This is my daughters second yr at this school and we have found it to be great. Counselors are awesome. Both teachers and counselors very helpful and willing to help out the students. She is a regular student, not in CJ program, so its not just that program that is outstanding, but the whole school.

My rating is largely based on the Criminal Justice program. It is just a phenominal program that I would recommend to all parents.

I am an African American junior at Pinellas Park High School (PPHS) and I am in the Criminal Justice Academy (CJA). We do get special treatment sometimes because our classes are much more demanding than the mainstream students (students who aren't in the (CJA). The CJA is a community of students willing to help one another out. As for as academics go, there are great teachers and leadership available. Also there are many extracurricular activities available. Personally I am in Mu Alpha Theta, Spanish Honor Society, student council, and soccer. In addition there are honor and advanced placement classes(AP) which I am also taking. Therefore if you are a parent or student considering going to PPHS I encourage you to enter the Criminal Justice Academy!

Hi Everybody! I've been a P-Park High student for 3 years and I had to move to a new school before my senior year. That was the most unfair thing ever! It has a full variety of sports, clubs, and afterschool activities. I made a lot of friends from different countries and learned their traditions. I learned a lot from this school and I love it for it. I felt really loved and welcomed at P-Park. The people there are the best!

A nice campus with a fairly modern building and amenities. With an emphasis on Criminal Justice magnet program they probably won't garner a majority of choice picks.

I do not like the fact that the Criminal Justice students are treated differently, for instance in drivers ed they get to drive even if the other students do not. I like that this school is 'enclosed' in a mall like setting all class wings come off the mall. The math dept needs to be more helpful with students that struggle in math. The drama dept teacher is a wonderful instructor as he is a confidant for the student, he is very encouraging. English dept is also a great dept with qualified teachers. as is the science and history dept.
